Service Description
The ICAO English Language Proficiency Check is a standardised assessment designed to ensure that pilots, air traffic controllers, and other aviation professionals can communicate clearly and effectively in English — the global language of aviation. Why it matters: Aviation safety depends on clear, unambiguous communication. Airlines and regulators (EASA, FAA, ICAO member states) require candidates to demonstrate proficiency before exercising their licenses. A valid ELP certificate is mandatory for flight crew and ATC in international operations. How it works: Candidates are tested on speaking and listening skills in aviation and non-routine scenarios. The exam measures pronunciation, fluency, structure, vocabulary, comprehension, and interaction. Results are graded on ICAO Levels 1–6. Level 4 = Minimum operational requirement. Level 5 = Extended proficiency. Level 6 = Expert proficiency (lifetime valid). What we offer at Pilotium: Practice modules simulating real ELP checks. AI-powered coaching with instant feedback on pronunciation and fluency. Scenario-based listening tasks (ATC exchanges, non-standard events). Guidance on how to achieve Level 4 and above.
