Service Description

The Type Rating Instructor (TRI) Course is designed for experienced airline pilots who want to step into a teaching role and train other pilots on a specific aircraft type. It prepares you to deliver ground school, simulator instruction, and line training in accordance with EASA/ICAO standards. Who it’s for: Experienced captains and first officers seeking to become instructors. Pilots aiming to expand their career opportunities into training and checking roles. Professionals looking to progress towards examiner qualifications (TRE). Course Objectives: By the end of this course, you will be able to: Deliver effective ground school instruction for type-rated pilots. Conduct simulator training sessions that cover both normal and non-normal procedures. Guide students through line training with emphasis on standard operating procedures (SOPs), crew resource management (CRM), and safety. Assess trainee performance and provide structured feedback. Course Structure: Teaching & Learning (T&L) Module – fundamentals of adult education and communication. Technical & Theoretical Training – type-specific systems, SOPs, and operational requirements. Simulator Sessions – conducting practical instruction and handling abnormal/emergency scenarios. Assessment & Evaluation – developing grading skills and giving constructive feedback. Entry Requirements: Valid type rating on the relevant aircraft. Minimum flight hours as required by the authority (typically 1,500–2,000 hours total time). Recent operational experience on type. Strong communication skills and motivation to teach. Outcome: Successful candidates receive the TRI Certificate on their aircraft type, enabling them to provide instruction at ATOs, airlines, and training centers worldwide.
